Karen Jacobsen loves painting and drawing. Jacobsen has been captivated by the visual energy and abundance of the natural world. Combining art and science has given her a keen eye for capturing the subtle to austere beauty of her subjects. As a member of the Plein Air Painters of Idaho, the Idaho Watercolor Society, and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, she is constantly observing and painting.

In 2017 the Pettitt Group purchased this original piece of artwork as part of our Supporting the Arts initiative. Throughout the year we give away fine art prints of this beautiful artwork as client closing gifts. The original will be auctioned in November 2018 at our annual “Art Night Out” at the Boise Art Museum.

A painting should not only evoke a mood, it must sing!

We are pleased to highlight the work of artist Danene Taysom, our February 2018 artist of the month.

Danene works as both as an artist and a teacher. She began her art education at Brigham Young University-Idaho. She received her degree in Interior Design, excelling in interior architectural renderings and presentations. After graduation, she worked at several prominent architectural firms where she professionally used both her design and art skills . For more than a decade she has focused on her love, oil painting.  She has studied for many years under the renowned Russian master painter and teacher, Ovanes Berberian.

Jerri Lisk

The Artist of the Month for January 2018 is Jerri Lisk. Inspired by the dramatic landscapes encountered in her diverse travels, painter Jerri Lisk never leaves home without her sketchbook in hand. Lisk began her career as an oil painter, studying under Frank Holda in high school and then moving on to study decorative painting at Leonard Pardon School of Specialty Design in London, England. Eventually, her talents led her into working in stained glass and faux finishes over the next 20 years. Currently, she is a full-time fine art painter. Her chosen medium is now acrylic on sanded down aluminum; her models consist of natural subjects.

Pettitt Group Art Collection Features Local Idaho Artists

In 2016 we had Karen Bubb create an original work of art that re ran as signed, numbered prints and framed for client closing gifts. This has been a wonderful new tradition, and we would like to build upon it. Our goal was to curate an art collection of original works by local artists. Over the course of 2017 a group of twelve local artists were chosen to submit artwork to be a part of a collection. We unveiled the collection of pieces on November 9, 2017, at a client appreciation party at the Boise Art Museum. Pettitt Group Real Estate selections of non profit organizations for their 2018 Community Giving program.

Personal Message from Andrea Pettitt:

In 2010 I worked as a solo agent and the real estate market was in a tailspin. Over half the homes I showed were short sales or bank owned properties. There were so many dreams that were lost during that time and as an agent it was an incredibly sad time.

One day I had an idea to make a donation at every closing to a local non profit organization. It was a way to add something good to what I was doing when most of my work involved hard times for someone. Since then, we’ve given $100 to a local non profit at every closing — in 2017 we were able to donate over $20,000!

I was blown away by the analysis [Andrea] did to determine the market value of our home…so detailed and thorough!
