Idaho Shakespeare Festival: Produce Great Theater, Entertain and Educate

By living in a community with a vibrant culture, we are able to be the kind of place that lifts up those around us. Having a strong, vibrant arts community makes Boise a better place for everyone to live, work and give.

The Pettitt Group real estate team supports art in all forms. We believe that art creates community, which is why each month we choose a local non-profit organization to support.

We are excited to announce our support for The Idaho Shakespeare Festival in August 2018. We will give $100 per transaction to the the Idaho Shakespeare Festival this month, or a minimum of $1,000 (whichever is greater).

‘the Festival seeks to: develop an artistic home… educate through a range of programs… illuminate human nature and our rich cultural heritage… promote cultural understanding’

Summer nights spent at the Idaho Shakespeare Amphitheater & Reserve are fond memories for many Treasure Valley residents. Each year a new season of plays, including traditional Shakespearean performances, modern plays and musicals, are carefully crafted to entertain and delight patrons of all ages. The outdoor setting allows for a stunning view of the Boise foothills behind the entertainment. In its 20th season at the Amphitheater, the tradition of play goers enjoying a picnic before and during the show continues.

Educational Programs

“Through its school tours, Shakespearience and Idaho Theater for Youth, the Festival annually

reaches approximately 50,000 school-age children, including those in rural and under-served communities.”

The Educational Programs put on by the Festival leave a lasting impression on students in the Treasure Valley and throughout Idaho. The Festival has a goal to foster the enjoyment of Shakespeare and the theater arts in younger generations. The belief that the arts should be accessible to everyone is what pushes this organization to bring these stories to schools in rural areas. These programs continue to expand and reach more and more individuals each year. Check out the video below to learn more about how the Idaho Shakespeare Festival is impacting Idaho.
