Gem Center for the Arts: A community hub

By living in a community with a vibrant culture, we are able to be the kind of place that lifts up those around us. Having a strong, vibrant arts community makes Boise a better place for everyone to live, work and give.

The Pettitt Group real estate team supports art in all forms. We believe that art creates community, which is why each month we choose a local non-profit organization to support.

We are excited to announce our support for The Gem Center for the Arts in June 2018. We will give $100 per transaction to the Gem Center for the Arts this month, or a minimum of $1,000 (whichever is greater).

The Gem Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit organization spearheaded by a few dedicated individuals seeking to create a hub that fosters creativity and innovation through the visual and performing arts. We’re not rich, we’re not famous, we just believe in the power of art and innovation to transform lives. And we hope our community believes, too.

The Gem Center for the Arts is a Boise based non-profit that aims to create an environment that encourages innovation. Various areas of interest are supported by the center, such as visual arts, theater arts, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). The Gem Center has plans to develop programs in all of these areas. Thus creating a space that brings all aspects of art together.

The Space

The Gem Center finished the remodeling of an old office building in Boise during the Fall of 2017. It’s now a space full of natural light flowing through floor to ceiling windows. Currently, the Gem Center has a black-box theater, a 3000 sqft gallery, 24 artist studios and an 00 sqft classroom, and they’re not stopping there…

The Gem Center has lots of plans for the future! Future plans include a maker studio for their STEAM program, more gallery space, a community dark room and a 700 sqft ceramics studio! The future is bright and full of possibilities for The Gem Center. You can find more information about the history of the building and what’s in store for the future here.
